New Drop Inn Preston

The name on the coach said Lakeland and after 24 hours of rain on Ewood car park it seemed very apt. However bad weather didn’t spoil the hopes of the 20 members that climbed aboard to travel to the New Drop and meet the 21 other members who had gone there by car. As usual the New Drop provided us with a really good meal and the odd pint of beer or glass of wine slipped nicely down with the food. A slight air of anticipation of a defeat seemed to be on the coach to Deepdale, but Andy and Mel got the majority of wagers in the positive camp.

The goalkeeper Walton was in front of Gallagher in the first to score betting but the lad proved us wrong and scored twice in the first half. Unfortunately Preston scored three in the second half to give us yet another miserable trip home. Even the impossibly optimistic  among us who had bet on Gallagher to score first were to be let down as his first was an own goal.
