Hull City Away

The omens looked bad as we left Ewood in pouring rain for our long trip to Hull but as we crossed the Pennines the weather improved and the sun appeared. The Rovers had been on a run of win then lose from the start of the season but prior to our trip last three matches had been wins and hopes were high that we could beat Hull and make it four on the bounce. As in the wild west when wagon trains crossed the prairie, they sent scouts out to find food and water, the 100 Club follow this tradition and send scouts out to forage for our food en route. This time our Head Scout, Running Bear Mel found a cracker, a place where King Charles would have found favourable. It was a Castle, Cave Castle to be precise. The food was fantastic but being Yorkshire, every meat is christened lamb and so it was at the Castle when the leg of lamb didn't have a leg and tasted remarkably of beef, but very good beef.
Another highlight was the young lad at the bar didn't know how to measure Benedictine so our table ended up with double Bennies for the price of singles.

Dave ( Mystic Meg ) Walton, who seems to have telepathic knowledge of the team prior to it being announced gave us the line up and from great seats in the ground we watched us win 1-0. Sam Szmodics sent us home happy.
A long trip home to find us back at Ewood in the rain.
