Blast from the Past!

We've uncovered a great news snippet from the archives this week as Club Secretary David Jennings can be seen lining up with some well-known names from the Club's past at a 100 Club Sportsman's Dinner. Let's hope Bobby Charlton's promotion prediction is an omen for this season!

There's been lots of fantastic 100 Club Black Tie Events over the years, and the next one to look forward to is our End of Season Dinner Dance, due to be held on Bank Holiday Sunday 2nd May 2027.

Futher details will follow in due course but until then make sure you get this date in your diary for what promises to be another 'not to be missed' event of food, drinks, and live entertainment, and which includes an invite for you and your partner/guest, and is all part of your seasonal membership package.

If you have any 100 Club related photos of your own that you would like to share, whether it is from years gone by or from one of our more recent Dinners or Away Days, please let us know and we will look to include them on the website in the future!

FORMER England and Manchester United star Bobby Charlton tipped Blackburn Rovers for promotion when he was one of the chief guests at the 100 Club Sportsmen's dinner at the Moat House last night.

"I think they will get promotion this year and I hope they do," he told more than 200 diners who made up a record attendance for one of these functions.

Manchester City director Freddie Pye said that the bubble had burst as far as spending vast sums of money in football was concerned.

"Players want signing on fees, big salaries and loyalty bonuses. A lot of clubs have spent silly money, not because it was an ego trip but because they were ambitious. But all those million pound players have gone by the board and it's people like Derek Fazackerley who should get the loyalty bonus."
