First Away Trip to "Hull and Back"

An early morning departure in fine weather from Ewood and a fine trip to Hull for the 12:30 kick off. Given our patchy start to the season expectations were not high but in the usual way banter on the coach dispelled any gloom. I think that some were a little peckish and that given the fact that we were eating later in the afternoon a vision of a nice pie at the ground formed in mine and other minds. It was unbelievable that on arriving we found they didn’t have pies at Hull City although they were advertised. We don’t sell them I was told!! A football ground without pies has got to be the most amazing thing in the history of the game. Oh well it didn’t matter as we were treated to a great game of football with the Rovers storming to a 3-0 victory with goals from Hedges, Ohashi, and the outstanding Todd Cantwell who was appointed Captain after the departure of Lewis Travis to some club in the Midlands, the name of which slips my mind but hopefully will be in League One next season. Our meal at Cave Castle on the way home was delicious, and we must thank again our chief food scout Mel for arranging it.

I say this in total jest: It appears that we have developed into a two tier 100 club. While mystic Dave who for once didn’t know the team on the way to the ground sat with others in the lower section of the stand listening to, We Hate Burnley chants others in the club hierarchy sat in the posher section above us where the shouts where, One Does Not Care For Burnley resonated. The banner in front of our exclusive members seems to say it all.
